History
Our business began when Verone Leimer joined the Amarillo office of Clifton Gunderson in 2000. As a national CPA firm, Clifton Gunderson (CG) mandated that each office offer technology consulting, leaving Verone to begin building a practice from the ground up. Drew Terrell joined Verone at CG in 2001. Together they began to identify opportunities in the market. With Drew’s background in IT, he found networking opportunities and enlisted the help of Toby Giddens who was working as an intern at CG at the time. The time between 2000 and 2002 was characterized by slow growth. In 2003 the practice began to gain momentum, but times were changing in the CPA industry. After the fallout from the collapse of Enron and others, the CPA industry faced regulatory pressures that made technology consulting difficult.
During that time, our client, AMA Techtel Communications, asked us to join their company as employees. Not wanting to lose the business we had built or abandon the clients we had committed to, we arranged a financial partnership with AMA that allowed us to purchase the practice from CG. In April 2004, AMA Techtel Business Solutions began operating as an independent division of AMA Techtel. This was a period of explosive growth. With two years we grew from three to eight employees. We more than doubled our client base, and most importantly we landed our first managed service agreements. In January 2006, AMA Techtel decided to seek new financial investors. Pursuant to our partnership agreement, the decision was made to spin off the Business Solutions Group to its own separate entity, Run Business Solutions, Inc. This allowed Drew, Toby and Verone to complete a goal of becoming the owners of the business.
On February 1, 2007, we opened for business as Run Business Solutions, Inc. In our future we see some exciting new opportunities. We look to become even more proactive in monitoring and managing our clients’ systems. Our partners, Microsoft and Dell, continually deliver new and innovative functions that will enable our clients to do more. We look forward to these exciting challenges.
